About

This site is created and maintained by Jacques Giraud. Blogging is done via Wordpress and picture albums are maintained in Gallery2. Both pieces of software are freely available in the public domain.

I’m an avid photographer and traveller and this web site combines both to reflect some of my life experiences. My interests are technology, photography, bird watching, traveling, food, wine.

When I’m not pursuing my interests I spend most of my time doing technology based project management mostly in financial services.

My lovely and talented wife, Sharon also blogs on a regular basis on the site. Sharon’s interests are annoying me, home decorating and design, cooking, traveling, food and having fun.

We are doing some temps so I had to disconnect the weather station FTP feed. It will be back up in a few weeks.

Oh great guru …….. I am seeking advice as to how to build a web site for a business that I am putting together ? what app would you recommend? I was just going to do it in PPT and save it as an html.

Oh great guru your advice would be appreciated.

If you are happy with the results go for it. I use Dreamweaver and Go Live but they have steep learning curves. Is your business building boat houses?

Oh great guru — getting ready to launch my business (Business cards, letter head, and the such) – what would you advise in regards to managing a home-based business from a telephone/contact perspect? I have looked at Wind mobile and at 45 dollars a month for all in — it is pretty attractive. Most of the activity will be responding to both voice and email after the 9-5 regular job. Pretty sure all these phone plans now give one the ability to transfer the phone number to another plan if changes are required.
