A Bug’s Life.

I have been feeling kind of crappy for the past year and thought since I was working in a medical clinic, why not see a doctor?

Since I was acting as receptionist, I managed to put me in for an appointment with Dr. Corina Martinez, a lovely Spanish GP who has a fantastic personality. I explained my problem and she did her magic hands thing pushing and prodding.

Now keep in mind I chatted with my own GP three times, and she sent me to an internist who suggested a poke and scope (yuck) after a plethora of jabs and stabs and tests for the past year. My docs in Canada were mystified.

Dr. Corina pretty much figured out what she thought it was, but took one more sample to be sure. She also chatted with Dr. Janetta, the resident gynie, who accosted me in the hall during her break and did her own quick exam with an ultrasound in about 10 minutes to make sure everything else was good.

Two days later, I had an answer and a prescription in hand. Seems the parasite I had had taken up permanent residence and it was time for an eviction.

One week later I am right as rain. Dr. Corina got a nice big hug, and Jacques and Mike want to give me the parasite back, because I was far less bouncy.

My only regret is that I contracted the only parasite that DID NOT make me lose weight!

So if you are ever in Dubai and in need of medical assistance, I can wholeheartedly recommend:

The Infinity Clinic
726 Al Wasl Road
+971 04 394 8994
There you will find Dr. Michael Loubser, pediatrician extraordinaire, Dr. Corina Martinez and Dr. Sean Pentherbridge (great GPS), and Dr. Janetta, a terrific OB/Gyn.This place is fantastic!
