It has been a dog day afternoon, with the heat of the city calling people to patios and long cool drinks. For our cats, however, it has been a day that called for a reprieve from pussycat prison.
A VERY generous friend has offered to keep our beloved kitties until we return from our great adventure. He has a 9 month old kitten that would share his surroundings with our two. Will it work? How does one introduce these interlopers?
Apparently this cat has an awesome pad. His own kitty condo, lots of toys and someone who works from home and is there to cater to his every whim. Let’s be clear, dogs have masters, cats have slaves.
Are we making the right decision in having our cats visit? It seems like they are going to be on an amazing holiday as well. Gone are the minions who merely feed them and brush them and ensure a clean litter. They are in a place where the dude actually spends a ton of time with them! And has cool surroundings! And they have a new friend! (Though frankly, I think the kitten will end up being Keiko’s b*%ch!)
Having said that, it seems like we will have so much more to live up to on our return. Will they still like us? Will they, huh?
If all goes well for the next few days, and the cats behave, they will live the life. They have had a stern talking to and have been told to play nice. Let’s just hope there are no riots and no blood drawn, and they are model prisoners…
